How the ELO ranking works
Inspired by the Lithuanian padel federation’s system. Designed to reflect true skill — not just how many games you’ve played.
Two separate rankings
- Games organised and verified by arenas
- Results reported by arena staff
- Affects your Arena ELO rating
- Informal matches between players
- Results submitted by the match organiser
- Affects your Community ELO rating
Everyone starts at 1000
1000 points places you at C- — the starting level for an intermediate player new to the platform. Early games move fast (K=64) so you reach your true level within a few sessions.
The math behind the points
Every doubles game compares the average rating of each team. The system calculates an expected probability of winning based on the rating gap, then rewards or penalises each player based on whether the result was surprising.

K-factor: how fast your rating moves
The K-factor controls the maximum points you can gain or lose in a single game. It decreases as you accumulate more games — letting new players calibrate quickly while protecting established players from wild swings.
Streak bonus
Win 3 or more consecutive games where your rating improved (meaning you beat equal or stronger opponents) and a ×1.1 multiplier is applied to your next win’s gain. Click the result buttons below to see the bonus activate.
Level thresholds
Nine letter levels map ELO scores to a familiar competitive ladder. Hover any row to highlight it.
Common questions
How does the Rallio padel ranking work?
Rallio uses an ELO-based rating. After every recorded game or match, both teams’ ratings adjust by the result and the skill gap between them — beat stronger opponents and you gain more, lose to weaker ones and you drop more. Your rating drives the national and city leaderboards.
What is my padel level?
Your level is a letter band derived from your ELO rating, from beginner to advanced. It updates automatically as you play rated games and matches, so it always reflects your current form rather than a one-off self-assessment.
How do I climb the padel leaderboard?
Play rated games and matches and win against opponents at or above your level. Consistent results raise your ELO and letter band; the leaderboard shows your national and city position along with recent form and trend.
